Frequently asked questions by paintballers..

What’s The Difference Between CO2 and Compressed Air?

CO2 has been around from the beginning of paintball and is generally considered to be the inferior of the two propulsion systems. As such it is slowly being phased out in favor of high-pressure air (HPA) systems. The major advantage is that HPA has less of a drastic temperature difference than CO2 meaning that your gun won’t freeze up. This is a necessity when playing with markers that have internal electrical components.

What Is The Empire Mega Lite Air Tank Made Of?

The Empire Mega Lite Air Tank is made of aluminum wrapped in carbon fiber. Contrary to popular belief, air tanks need an aluminum interior to support the amount of pressure contained within them. This is a safety measure because of the high air pressure. This pressure could cause serious injury if the tank were to explode so extra precautions are taken to ensure this doesn’t happen.

What Does CI Mean?

“CI” simply means cubic inches. This refers to the amount of internal volume that each air tank can hold. A tank saying 68/4500 (like the Empire Mega Lite) means that it has an internal volume of 68 cubic inches which can be filled to 4500 pounds per square inch (PSI).
